STEVE LEVY

Steve Levy is Of Counsel to Campolo, Middleton & McCormick, working with their municipal, government relations and real estate development teams.
He is a former state and county legislator and candidate for Governor of New York State and served as County Executive of Suffolk County, New York
from 2004 to 2011. As CEO of the largest suburban county in New York State, with a population of 1.5 million, a workforce of over 10,000 and a budget
of $2.7 billion, Steve was renowned as one of the nation's leading fiscally conservative managers. His record of eight consecutive years of tax cuts
or freezes was unsurpassed in New York State during his tenure.
Under his leadership, Suffolk saw a record investment in open space preservation and alternative energies, an unprecedented commitment to workforce
housing, over 15,000 jobs created or preserved through his economic development policies, and an over twenty percent reduction in overall crime.
Prior to that he served fifteen years in the Suffolk County Legislature (1986-2000), rising to the Chairmanship of the Ways and Means Committee and
the role of Deputy Presiding Officer. Thereafter, he served three years as a New York State Assemblyman.
Steve also serves as a political commentator and a strategist assisting candidates for elective office.
He is the Executive Director of the Center for Cost Effective Government, a not-for-profit entity of business and community leaders pledged to
working toward weeding out public sector waste and creating a more efficient government. Additionally, he is founder and president of Common Sense
Strategies, a company that helps governments and businesses save up to 20% on their operational costs.
Mr. Levy grew up in Holbrook, NY, and attended Sachem High School, Stony Brook University (graduating Magnate Cum Laude) and St. John's Law School.
